The purpose of this SUB meter is not to replace any meter that has been installed by the relevant authorities. The sub meter is only for situations where the authorities supply electricity by means of one supply meter to a property where the electricity consumption of individual consumers needs to be measured and managed, by both the property owner and the consumer of electricity at the particular unit. The owner will continue to receive and pay the account from the authorities. The owner will be refunded whatever electricity the tenant has purchased and received, once a month within the first 5 working days. NPPM do not send proof of payments. Any outstanding invoices will be deducted from refund. PLEASE NOTE : NPPM reading dates are always a calendar month from 1st-30th/31st of every month. Landlords will incur a transactional fee of R 3.95 plus vat. If option 2 is selected the report will also be emailed within the first 5 working days. A service fee of 9.9% plus vat is levied on vouchers purchased online directly from National Prepaid Meters 24/7 365. A service fee of 15% plus vat is levied on vouchers purchased ONLY at an Easy Pay outlet, e,g Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite, Spar, Boxer, USave, banks and all garages. The service fees are payable by the tenant and not the landlord. If no option is selected the meter will default onto option 2. If there is any outstanding invoice/payment due to National Prepaid Meters this will first be deducted from refund monies due, and the balance paid to the landlord. National Prepaid Meters is not responsible for any municipal bills. National Prepaid Meters is not a supplier or distributor of electricity. Their only function is to supply and install or supply only, the meters that can be used for the measuring and monitoring of electricity. National Prepaid Meters does not accept responsibility for the non-supply or interruption of electricity to the premises, particularly in circumstances falling exclusively under the control of the relevant authorities. The owner therefore hereby indemnifies National Prepaid Meters and keeps it harmless against any claims from the consumer/owner, or any other person/party that may arise from such non-supply, interruption or any other detrimental activity. National Prepaid Meters will not be held responsible under any circumstances for any claims whatsoever from the municipality, owner, 3rd party or any other claimant for any damage, breach of municipal regulations, incorrect installations, by-passing of municipal meters, fraudulent installations, damage of premises, consequential damages and all claims which will be for the charge of the owner. National Prepaid Meters shall in accordance with the owner load the relevant electricity consumption tariff on the system according to which the consumer will pay for their consumption of electricity at the premises. The loading of the correct tariff is not the responsibility of National Prepaid Meters. We will load the default tariff if no other/personal tariff is instructed by the landlord. National Prepaid Meters will in turn, in accordance with the owner, load the tariff thus requested by the owner onto the system. If a tariff is not prescribed an average/default rate will apply. The warranty is only valid if this registration form is correctly completed. Also a proof of purchase, invoice indicating date purchased, model and serial number must be produced. National Prepaid Meters reserves the right to refuse warranty if this information is not forthcoming. Subject to the provisions of Section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, National Prepaid Meters obligations are to repair the defective part or to replace the product, at its discretion. This warranty is not applicable in cases other than defects in material, design and workmanship. Also this warranty does not cover periodic checks, maintenance, repair and maintenance of parts due to normal wear and tear, abuse or misuse of the product for its intended use, failure of the product arising out of accidents, acts of God, or cause beyond the control of National prepaid Meters caused by but not limited to lightening, water, fire, public disturbances, improper ventilation, uninstallation and re-installation and unauthorised modifications. In all circumstances a call out fee will be charged. National Prepaid Meters is not the manufacturer of the electrical meter. National Prepaid Meters shall not be liable to the owner or any other party, in any circumstances whatsoever, for any indirect, contingent, or consequential loss sustained or incurred by such party howsoever arising and of whatsoever nature, including but not limited to loss of profits, whether or not both parties or either party contemplated such losses or damages at any time. National Prepaid Meters will not be held responsible for refunds being paid into the incorrect bank account due to undecipherable bank account details on the form. All meters come with standard manufacturer warranty to protect against any technical difficulty and thus excludes National Prepaid Meters from such liability. If the meters are in any way tampered with by any third party or if any meter is no longer in the service of or registered with National Prepaid Meters, then the repair guarantee will no longer apply. If National Prepaid Meters is called out to check on a meter/s by the landlord or tenant and the fault is not ours, a call out fee will be charged. In the event that this agreement is terminated by any means, no payments of any kind whatsoever shall be owed or payable or refunded by National Prepaid Meters. There are no refunds on electricity purchases. There is a charge for issuing Key Change Tokens. National Prepaid Meters do not disconnect meters. If alternate or extra material (e.g. wiring,etc) is required when a meter is installed the price may be increased to cover this. We allow for a max of 50cm of wiring from DB board to meter.
